Introducing RubiRock.

Debbie gets an upgrade to her wheels... and tires and axles and lockers and transfer case and one very important decal on the hood.

While Debbie's little red Jeep was less than a year old, it became apperent that it could not keep up with the Green Monster without serious upgrades. After crunching the numbers, we figured it would cost less to take the hit on depreciation by trading in the red Jeep for a new Jeep Rubicon. With a 4:1 transfer case, 4:10 geared Dana 44 axles front and rear, BFG MT tires, lockers front and rear, a disconnecting front sway bar, navigation system and many other refinements, it was a serious upgrade and will hold it's own with the Green Monster and do better in a lot of ways. The color is called Granite and being a Rubicon it seemed fitting to call it RubiRock. The name may change, but for now that's what we are calling it.

A lot of people think we are silly for having two Jeeps and take them in pairs where ever we go, but we don't mind. These are the same people who are always asking us where we went last weekend or are talking about how they'd like to go the places we do.

Before the new plates had even arrived, even before the first week of ownership was up, RubiRock was in low range and showing off her stuff on the trail.

But that is the topic of the next few posts. For now, just an introduction.
