When you buy a vehicle for the purpose of driving off road, well, the first thing you want to do is take it off road. Gotta make sure it works as expected, right? That's what we told ourselves anyway.
You need to make sure your new 4x4 handles the snow as well as you expected.
And can handle the rough terrain like you want it to...
A good place for all of this and more is Evans Creek ORV park located near Mt Rainier. So this is where we headed. Because it was early in the season, there was still enough snow in places to hold back even well performing Jeep Rubicons. So we settled for playing around a bit before exploring the area close by.
Hanging out on a wooden bridge over the Carbonado River.
Driving on the Carbonado River bed.
Emma checking out the riverbed and generally enjoying being outside.
One of the many waterfalls in the area.
The next two pictures are of the first bridge crossing the Carbonado River to get out to Evans Creek. It is single lane, a few hundred feet above the river, and it wobbles. We don't know how long the bridge has been here, but we have to wonder how much longer it will remain. It is always interesting driving across it.
Day one over with. Continue on to the next post for more cool pictures and a really cool place to visit. Not to mention a link to all of the photos for the last post, this post, and the next post.
